I hope you are all having a good 2021 so far. With all that is happening around us I believe it is very important to start this year talking about mindful eating. As most people get back to work, we still have others working from home. As we all know this has caused alot of challenges in terms of healthy eating.
Mindful eating is a beautiful way to look at your meals and appreciate where your food came from. It helps us limit overeating and focus on giving our bodies nutritious meals. As we get back to our busy lives, most people just eat for the sake of eating causing overeating, bloating, weight gain and so much more.
Below are 6 tips you can use in any set up to help you be more mindful to the food you eat.
Eat when hungry: most of us would snack in between meals even though we are not hungry
Start serving yourself with vegetables first, followed by protein and lastly carbohydrates
Chew slowly; at least 20-30 bites per bite
Avoid distractions like being on your phone or watching TV
Avoid eating on the go
Stop when you are full, no need to finish the plate, you can leave this for later.
